Winter may be your favorite month, but the sudden change in weather creates a havoc for your hair and skin. Today I’ll be sharing few Winter hair care tips and my favorite hair care products for colder months.
1. Oil your hair
It is a well known fact that our skin as well as our scalp gets dry during the colder months. This may lead to dandruff and itchy scalp, which can result in hair fall too. So you should regularly oil your hair and opt for hot oil massages too.
The oil I use is the Nature’s Absolutes lush tresses oil which has 11+ oils including cold pressed and essential oils. It doesn’t feel sticky but makes the hair nourished, silky and healthy.
2. Avoid hot showers
Due to the cold climate, we may be tempted to shower in hot water, but it is advisable to avoid it. Hot water will strip away the natural oils that nourish your hair and damage the scalp. So opt for lukewarm or cool water instead of hot water.
3. Choose the right shampoo
Our hair is prone to get dry during Winter, which eventually causes breakage and dandruff. So choose a shampoo with moisturising properties – glycerin and essential oils.
I switch between two shampoos – Mamaearth Happy Heads shampoo and Tresseme Botanique Nourish & Replenish shampoo. They both cleanse the scalp effectively and keeps the hair nourished, yet oil free.
4. Make deep conditioning a priority
Never ever skip a conditioner after shampooing your hair because your hair needs all the moisture. Apply a deep conditioning hair pack at least once a week.
I use the respective conditioners of the shampoos I use and once in a week I apply Aaranya argan oil hair pack. It makes my hair soft, moisturized and healthy. It also avoids split ends and leaves the silky as a feather.
5. Never leave your house with damp hair
Drying your hair can be a task, but never leave your house with damp hair. Damp hair and scalps attract a lot of problems like dandruff, breakage, and split ends. It is recommended to blow dry or air dry your hair.
6. Apply a serum
Apply a hair serum on your damp hair and particularly on the hair ends. This will keep your hair moisturized, tamed and avoid breakage or split ends.
I use L’oreal argan oil leave on serum. It is light weight and doesn’t make my hair look oily. It makes my hair soft, shiny and manageable.
7. Increase your water intake
We may not feel thirsty during colder months, but it is important to stay hydrated in order to have healthy hair and skin.
