Welcome back to my blog! It has been raining heavily for the past 2 weeks and it is a refreshing change from the scorching summer heat. So, is it okay to skip body lotion during monsoons? Not at all! No matter what the climate is, our body needs to be moisturised. But make sure that you opt for a light weight and non greasy moisturiser that feels comfortable during the humid climate. I’m currently using Dermavive moisturising lotion with natural colloidal oatmeal.
Goodness of Oatmeal
The use of oats in skincare has been documented as far back as 2000 BC. Colloidal oatmeal is produced from finely grounded oat grains that are boiled to produce an extract. Egyptian Queen Cleopatra used oats in her skincare routine and the ancient Egyptians were among the first people to recognize the soothing effect oats had on the skin.
Dermavive is owned by UAS pharmaceuticals which is an origin of Australia. Their products are now available in India on leading online portals such as Amazon and Flipkart.
Dermavive moisturising lotion is packed in a sturdy plastic tube with a flip cap. It has the color combination of blue and white and their other products are of different colors. So if you own more than one product from Dermavive, it is easy to recognise. It is travel friendly and spill proof. The outer packaging is of a cardboard box which has the product details such as – product description, ingredients, directions mentioned on it.
A non-greasy fast-absorbing preparation combining the moisturising and soothing action of Natural Colloidal Oatmeal plus the hydrating affects of Sodium PCA, pH balanced to maintain the natural acid mantle of the skin thereby providing protection against dryness caused by ordinary soaps, extreme environmental conditions and other factors.
INR 800 for 120 ml
I have dry skin on my body with a few summer rashes and a few cat scratches. And I’m guilty of not using moisturisers regularily, as I hate the sticky feeling most body lotions result. So I was quite skeptical about using Dermavive moisturising lotion. To my surprise, the lotion was quite runny and light weight (the way I like). It is fragrance free and so it is appropriate for those with sensitive noses.
I take a little amount and massage it on my skin. It spreads easily and gets absorbed into the skin within a minute. It gives a mild cooling sensation and soothes the skin. It results in soft, moisturised skin and doesn’t cause sweating. So even on a hot and humid day, this moisturiser would feel comfortable on the skin. I use it twice in a day, after my shower and it has reduced the appearance of stubborn dry patches.
If you prefer using light weight, non greasy and fast absorbing body lotion which keeps the skin moisturised and soft, then Dermavive moisturising lotion is a good option. But it is quite expensive and I hope that the price is reduced, so that everyone gets to experience this wonderful body lotion.
