Hope you are all doing well. If you know me, you’d know how much I love using DIY skincare products. I feel it is an easy yet effective way to take care of our skin. Lately I’ve been using this natural powder face wash, which has the ingredients used by Indian women since ages. Powder face washes have become quite popular lately and you can make your own face wash at home. All you need are 3 main ingredients and you can personalize according to your skin needs.
1. Hibiscus powder
Hibiscus is known as the ‘Botox plant’ as it is one of the most powerful anti-ageing plant actives. It increases the skin elasticity and gives a natural youth boost to the skin. It evens out skin tone and results in glowing complexion.
2. Neem powder
Neem is one of the ancient remedies for skin ailments in India. Being rich in Vitamin E and antibacterial properties, it cures acne, clears acne scars and pigmentation. It treats skin dryness and delays signs of ageing.
3. Turmeric powder
Turmeric is a magical ingredient which can be found at Indian households. Popularly known as the ‘Golden Spice’, it is rich in anti-bacterial properties. It kills acne causing bacteria, removes dead skin cells and gets rid of sun tan.
How to use?
I use this once a day at night after I’ve removed my makeup. It makes my skin clean and gets rid of dirt and other impurities. It gives a natural glow to the skin and makes it soft. As it is free from chemicals, it is a safe alternative which I enjoy using.
For Oily Skin
If you have extremely oily skin, you can mix a spoon of besan. This will absorb the extra oil from your skin and make your skin oil free.
For Dry Skin
If you have dry patches or dull skin, add powdered oats to the mixture. Oats will add moisture to the skin and also acts a natural scrub. This will leave your skin fresh and nourished.
For Acne Prone Skin
If you have acne prone and pesky pimples visiting you often, you can mix fenugreek powder. It cools the skin and also heals the acne.
Do not rub harshly while using this powder face wash, as it may damage the skin. Be extra careful if you have acne. If you face skin irritation, wash it off immediately!
Do let me know if you try this DIY powder face wash. See you on my next post, take care!
