Welcome to my blog. Being a herbal skincare enthusiast, I love trying out new herbal ingredients on my skin. I’ve been using powdered rose petals in my skincare routine for about two months and I’ll be sharing my experience about the same today.
Goodness of Rose
Rose is one of the most famous flowers and is very beneficial to the skin. It has been in existence for around 35 million years. Rose is one of the first flowers that were used for beauty purposes. The ancient Greeks and Romans used rose petals to perfume their baths.
Rose has the following properties which are beneficial for skincare:
Antioxidants – Rose is rich in Vitamin C, which is a powerful antioxidant and can help protect skin cells from damage and delays the ageing process.
Moisturizing – The natural oils found in roses help lock moisture into the skin, keeping skin feeling smooth.
Toning – As a natural astringent, rose helps tighten pores and restore suppleness for a glowing complexion.
How I use it?
1. Face Wash
I make a mixture of rose petals powder along with besan and a pinch of turmeric. I apply it on my wet face and wash it after 2 minutes. This makes my skin clean, soft and fresh. I usually use this at the end of the day in my night time skin care regime.
Scrubbing is an essential part of the skincare which removes the dead skin cells. I mix rose powder, oats and milk and scrub it on my face. It makes the skin rejuvenated and glowing. To use as a body scrub, I substitute oats with sugar and scrub on my body.
Nothing works better than a herbal face mask! To use as a face mask, I mix rose powder, neem powder, a pinch of turmeric powder and curd. I apply it on my face and neck and wash it off after 15 minutes. It removes sun tan and makes the skin bright and glowing.
