Powder foundations are one of the latest buzz in the beauty circle. It gives a matte look and is light weight and easy to apply. I’ll be sharing my views on Mary Kay mineral powder foundation, which I’ve been testing for a while.
About Mary Kay
Mary Kay Inc. is an American privately owned multi-level marketing company that sells cosmetics products. The company was founded by Mary Kay Ash in 1963. Mary Kay was the sixth largest multi-level marketing company in the world in 2015. They have a wide range of skin care and makeup products.
The powder foundation has an outer cardboard package which has the product details, ingredients list etc. The actual packaging is of a transparent plastic container with a mirror finish lid. It has a sifter which dispenses the right amount of powder and avoids spillage.
How to Apply?
The texture of the powder foundation is so soft and blends easily on the skin. It doesn’t feel powdery on the skin. It has light coverage and it can be built to medium coverage.
It stays for about 5 to 6 hours and gives a matte finish. It controls oil secretion and is a good option for oily and combination skinned beauties.

Mary Kay powder foundation in the shade Beige 0.5 matches my skin tone perfectly and blends into the skin seamlessly. It is easy to use and gives a natural look. It keeps the skin oil free for long but, it accentuates my dry patches. This is a great option during Summer when my skin becomes oily. I use it to set my concealer, and it avoids my concealer from creasing and also highlights my under eye area. It is weightless and doesn’t look cakey.
Overall, this is a good option if you have oily/combination/normal skin or if you love matte finish. If you prefer medium coverage, you’ll like this powder foundation. But if you are a dry skinned beauty, it may not be the best.
